Cocampo – 2025

Àngels Sabater was quoted by Spanish rural property portal Cocampo on the rules governing masia rehabilitation in Catalonia. Àngels explained that a ruin must already exist on the land before any rehabilitation can take place, and that the masia must be registered in the municipal catalogue before a works licence can be applied for — with the external stone structure required to preserve the original character of the building throughout.

The Olive Press – December 2024

Àngels Sabater wrote a guest column for The Olive Press warning international buyers about the three most common mistakes when purchasing a rural property in Catalonia. The piece drew on a direct experience: Cottage Properties removed a masia from their portfolio after warning the buyer of serious issues with the property – but the buyer proceeded through another agency and subsequently received a stop-work and demolition order from the local council, as the masia was not listed in the municipal catalogue and therefore ineligible for a rehabilitation permit.
