The Olive Press – Spain’s leading English-language newspaper – dedicated a full page in its Property Magazine to four boutique hotels for sale in Catalonia, all from Cottage Properties’ portfolio.

On 5 November 2025, The Olive Press published a feature in its property supplement titled “Bed and brilliant!” — a play on bed & breakfast that highlights the charm and quality of the selected hotels.
In its article, the British newspaper showcased several rural gems currently for sale through Cottage Properties, recognising the uniqueness and heritage value of these properties.
Among them is Mas Salvi, one of the most acclaimed rural hotels on the Costa Brava, which was mentioned by The Times as one of the 14 best hotels in the region.
Likewise, Mas Cabellut was named “Spain’s best vineyard wedding venue”, while Castell de Foixà impressed journalists with its historic character and architectural features, including a chapel, library, vaulted halls, and panoramic views from its defensive tower.
Boutique hotel in Cadaqués takes centre stage
The report also dedicated a special section to Mas dels Arbres, the boutique hotel in Cadaqués sold through Cottage Properties.
The Olive Press journalists noted that it is one of only two hotels of its kind in Cadaqués and the surrounding area, thanks to its rural hotel licence.
This licence allows the future owner to rent out rooms individually, like a traditional hotel, or rent out the entire property, offering a flexible dual-income opportunity rarely seen in the sector.
The article described Mas dels Arbres as a hotel “of exceptional rarity” and highlighted how the restoration of the building, led by Cottage Properties, was praised by Ponç Feliu, director of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, who called it “the best restoration in the park to date.”
