It is a fortified farmhouse consisting of three floors. The ground floor, which currently houses the facilities of Roses - Wine Family Museum, was the area reserved for the winery, the oil mill and the stables. On the two upper floors there were family rooms articulated around a large room and, adjacent to them, the rooms of the masoveros. The roof is four waters and in the center there is an uncovered square tower, a watchtower. On the right is a polygonal tower that was used as a warehouse. In 1773, a chapel dedicated to San Sebastián was built near the farmhouse, of which there are currently no remains. In the Trencada stream there was also a water mill. The strategic situation of Masía has marked its history. It is likely that, due to its plant and the Roman remains that have been found in the place of les Arenes, it was an ancient Roman villa from the s. II a. C., although it has not been possible to confirm. The Farmhouse has always been an important reference for the population of Roses, either because it is the first landowner of the population, either because it was a prominent element of protection. In the S. XV, for example, the circular tower of the house was used as a lookout to warn of the arrival of pirates and, a few centuries later, during the Civil War (many people took refuge in the property of air and naval attacks. The peak of this farm was at the end of the 19th century, which was when it became one of the largest agricultural properties in Alt Empordà. This growth was produced thanks to the good management of Miquel Coll i Caritg, a character involved in politics municipal and great connoisseur of the cultivation of the vineyard that fought to eradicate phylloxera (1879) When the plague remitted, Coll i Caritg launched an ambitious replanting policy with American strains.
