TELEWORKING AND RURAL WORLD

Rural Catalonia thus has an enormous opportunity for development thanks to the new job opportunities offered by teleworking.

"Professionals are at a turning point, to the point that 41% are thinking of leaving their job this year and 46% see it as likely to move, now that it is possible to work from anywhere," says Álvaro Álvarez, general secretary from Manpower Group.

This has catapulted well-being as a key condition for talent retention and explains why the demand for remote employment models is growing more than ever.

More and more people want to keep “with the positive part of the pandemic and want to redesign a new work scenario: they want to reconcile their personal and professional lives and incorporate flexibility, interaction, collaboration and human connections as needed,” says Álvarez.

On this new game board, the locations with the highest quality of life have more options to increase their census and activate their economy with talent recruitment that feeds back and acts as a magnet for investments.

Remote work has experienced a spectacular boom in 2022. Currently, more than 3 million workers take advantage of this modality, compared to the 915,800 people who did so in 2019. This represents an increase of more than triple, according to a study by Randstad on the evolution of teleworking.

On the other hand, reconciling family and work is very positive, but there is a risk that both areas mix excessively and end up harming your work. Therefore, even if you telework in town, make sure you have a private space that serves as an office, where there are no distractions.
